Real Hawaii Tours is a tour company that offers an entertaining and unforgettable journey aboard a 30 foot motorized vessel along the Wai`anae coast of O`ahu, Hawaii using modern technologies like Color Underwater Video Cameras and High Fidelity Audio Equipment to enhance the excitement and sensations of encountering marine life and their habitat. Our highly trained and personable staff create a personalized experience for our guests, helping them discover the romance and mystery of our islands through learning about the "REAL" Hawaii, it's culture and people. It is our goal to provide an experience that reduces stress, provides information, cultural education and creates an ambiance that is soothing, full of fun and true Aloha.

Principles

REAL HAWAII TOURS is a family owned and operated business. Our family has been in Wai`anae for many generations and have fished and surfed her shores. Our knowledge of the coast and her history provide our guest with a glimpse of the "Real Hawaii" from "Real" Hawaiians-a novelty few others can claim.






Captain Henry W. Pelekai Sr.

At the helm is Captain Henry W. Pelekai Sr. whose has spent the last 35 years as Honolulu Fire Fighter and is currently one of three Captains that run the State's $2 million fireboat Mokuahi. He is also the sole proprietor of Ka`imi P. Commercial Fishing a very reputable commercial fishing business with over 30 years of experience. And was also the owner of the first surfboard shop in Wai`anae called Mystic Surfboards. He holds a 200-ton Coast Guard Masters License, numerous CPR and first aid certificates, lifeguard certification and is also a Coast Guard certified STCW instructor who instructs other ship captains on shipboard fire fighting, and open ocean water safety and survival in a life raft.



Ka`imi K. Pelekai

Our Business Manager and boat Captain as well is Ka`imi K. Pelekai. Also a Honolulu Fire Fighter and currently assigned to the Wai`anae Fire Station he holds a 25 ton Coast Guard Master's License, as well as numerous CPR and first aid certificates, lifeguard certification, and is also a Coast Guard certified STCW instructor who instructs other ship captains on shipboard firefighting and open ocean water safety and survival in a life raft. Ka`imi is a professional entertainer and has worked in Hawaii's visitor industry. He has traveled to perform in places like New York, Chicago, L.A. and Japan. Ka`imi speaks Hawaiian, and is a cultural practitioner having traveled to the south pacific to participate in cultural exchanges with the Polynesian Voyaging Society, the Hokule`a, Hawai`i loa, and Makali'i voyaging canoes.
