Since her debut, Soraya has gained traction as a staple indie-dance sound selector in California. With her versatile sound and high-energy performances, the 25-year-old DJ has taken over stages from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hawaii, and back to her home in San Diego. Her unique sets deliver primarily indie dance & dark disco- with afro-house, melodic techno, and tracks from her house-fueled roots mixed in. No matter where she plays, you can count on listeners to go on a journey across genres, blended seamlessly and aimed towards creating an environment for dancers to get a hot and heavyclub set.
Working full-time in music as a publicist at Listen Up, SORAYA has a vast understanding of what it takes to build a club-readyset. Since she was eighteen, she has built her definitive style and brand of DJing- complemented by her energetic, yet soulful presence on stage. In the last couple of years alone, she has been booked at and held residencies at major venues and underground parties such as Bang Bang, Spin Nightclub, Monarch SF, SOHO House’s Coachella Party, Bloom SD,official festival after-parties for CRSSD & Portola MusicFestival, and many more.
At the beginning of this year, she made her Insomniac Events debut at NOVA SD and Academy Nightclub in Los Angeles. On top of DJing and working in music promotions, Soraya has proven her capabilities as a successful change maker in the music industry- serving as the co-founder of a non-profitevent, RECLAIM CTRL. The event was founded after the abortion bans passed and she decided to step up to make achange within the community. Her debut dance music event had industry staples Baby Weight, Lupe Fuentes, and Laura Peck headline- raising $8,000 for three charities for women’s reproductive rights. She hopes to continue these events to spread light and create conscious events in the dance music space. Lastly, 2023 will hold a slew of first releases on the production side for Soraya, with a debut EP on the horizon.
