Honolua-Bay-Maui

Best Places To Stay in Maui

Island of Maui

Kihei-Maui

South Maui - Kihei and Wailea

The most popular area on Maui is probably the Southern tip, in Wailea or Kihei. Home to endless hotels for families and couples, both cities are near incredible beaches that allow you to go scuba diving without driving too far. The drawback is probably the crowds during the summer, but that is expected in such a famous area. Most tours pick tourists up from Kihei and Wailea, which is a great advantage as you probably don't want to be the last sitting on the bus to go snorkeling or whale watching.

Lahaina-Maui

West Maui: Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kapalua

West Maui is replete with luxurious resorts, golf courses, and picturesque beaches. While you'll be near the most popular attractions, it's more of a settlement trip and can be quite a challenge to get to the other side of the island. We recommend West Maui to couples and luxury travelers who want to escape the vibrant south part of the island Wailea to a more unique and premium setting.

hana-highway-maui

Along the Hana Highway - On the Way to Hana

The Hana Highway is another great area to stay, despite the less convenient location and fewer accommodations. Benefits include fabulous views with abundant waterfalls, and tumultuous streams are yours to keep for at least part of the day. Those who are inclined to athletic adventures with fewer tourists will enjoy staying here.

Kahului-Maui

Central Maui (Kahului and Wailuku)

For a convenient access between the road to Hana, the Western end of Maui, and the Southern tip, Kahului and Wailuku are great places to stay. In addition to driving everywhere in Maui conveniently, both cities are near the airport which is an advantage when it's time to go back home.
