Stop At: Bay View Farm, 83-5249 Painted Church Rd, Honaunau, Island of Hawaii, HI 96704-8316

Travel south into Kona coffee country for the first stop at Bay View Farm, a working 24 acre coffee farm nestled on the slopes of Mauna Loa Volcano just above beautiful Kealakekua Bay and known for the best Kona coffee since 1984. Here you’ll see coffee growing on the trees and learn about the various steps and processes in making coffee, all of which happen right here on the farm. You’ll sample Kona Coffee at a gorgeous overlook with stunning views of Kealakekua Bay and the monument to Captain Cook standing on the only sliver of British land in the United States.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Punalu’u Black Sand beach, Highway 11, Pahala, Island of Hawaii, HI 96777

The adventure continues as you head through the South Kona and Ka’u Districts. Stunning views, alternating between stark lava flows and Hawaiian dry forest, are visible through the huge picture windows of your tour vehicle. We stop briefly at picturesque Punalu’u Black Sand Beach. Lined with swaying coconut palm trees, this is one of the best black sand beaches on the island. Stroll along the beach and look for honu (Green Hawaiian Sea Turtles) feeding just offshore or sun-worshipping on the sand

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Volcano National Park, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Island of Hawaii, HI

Next travel to the crown jewel of Hawaii, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Visit the Kilauea Visitor’s Center, the Kilauea Iki Crater Overlook, and Steaming Bluffs. Take a walk through the famous Volcano House to view the smoking and steaming Kilauea Caldera. Dropping down into the lush eastern side of Kilauea Volcano our next stop is Big Island Candies.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Waipio Valley Lookout, 48-5546 Waipio Valley Rd, Honokaa, Island of Hawaii, HI 96743

Waipio Valley, known as the Valley of Kings, is a place of impossibly steep cliffs carved by plunging waterfalls cascading more than a thousand feet to the valley floor below. Waipio Valley is still home to taro farmers as it has been for a thousand years. Look closely from the overlook and glimpses of the wild horses that roam the valley floor might be possible

Great way to see The Big Island We chose this tour randomly and we are so glad we did. Our guide Marcus was amazing- very knowledgeable on the entire island. The tour was close to 11 hours long but it seemed much shorter then that as it was so well presented by Marcus. We saw amazing scenery with very diverse landscapes. Food supplied was excellent and no shortage on cold water. Would highly recommended this tour to anyone. Thanks Marcus - we really enjoyed our day with you

Great day out with Tory We had an excellent day exploring the big island with Tory as our tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about the islands history and all the sites. We definitely learnt a few fun facts along the way. She took us to some great places and gave us fantastic tips. We did the coffee farm, bakery, black sand beach, volcano, steam vents, waterfall, big island candies and a valley with the steepest road in the USA. A very enjoyable day and would highly recommend.

AAA+++ Big Island Circle Tour We’ve done full day tours on the other islands but this one has become our favourite. Marcus, our guide, picked us up at our hotel in a newer very clean van. He shared a lot of history and interesting information as we made our way around the island. Seeing the black sand beach for the first time was definitely a highlight. The lunch stop was excellent with burgers and sandwiches along with the unique doughnut-like pastry which satisfied everyone’s sweet tooth.
We thoroughly enjoyed each of our stops which were just the right length to see the location and take a bathroom break, if required. Volcano National Park was fascinating. The beauty of the Rainbow Falls is also amazing. Remember to bring your camera.
Finally, the meals provided were a high quality and delicious. There was no comparison in taste and quantity to meals we’ve had provided on our previous tours.
We highly recommend both this tour and Marcus as a guide!

Loved it! Perfect Way to Tour the Island!! Our family of 4 did this tour just a few days after we arrived (daughters 15 and 9). It was a great way to explore and see areas that we might want to go back to while we there. We were on the sprinter van with our guide, Marcus, and 6 other friendly people. Marcus was extremely knowledgeable and told us many interesting things about the island and the places we visited. The stops were all unique, interesting and beautiful! The tour provided water, food and snacks. We were worried our 9 year old would be bored, but she loved the day! Would highly recommend booking this tour!

Nice guide but too long with too many shopping stops Our guide Adam was great, but some of the tour stops were just shopping opportunities. We booked last minute with many trips sold out, so we were limited in choice. The coffee stop and candy stop were totally a waste of time. We passed a painted church, which we would have loved to visit and several scenic outlook places that we assume would have been good photo ops, but passed by. The lunch and dinner sandwiches were mediocre. I asked the booking agent about the interior of the bus and she said no pictures were available. It is similar to an airport shuttle bus where you are constantly crawling over people to get out. We were hoping for a larger bus that allowed you to stand up inside with seating on both sides. Very uncomfortable for those with mobility issues. I would definitely rent a car and do it ourselves next time.
