Exciting! We were lucky to see the whales jump out the ocean couple times on each side. Great storytelling by the captain. It was such a beautiful day on the ocean.

Whale watching on the Quicksilver in Maui - April 2024 This was a great choice for a whale watching tour in Maui. Even though it was late in the season for the whales, we were able to catch a mother, baby whale, and escort on our tour.

We managed to get decent seats near the upper level of the bow, which made for a great view. The crew was very professional and accommodating.

No whales! Disappointing, but it’s a trip to see other Sentient beings, so what can you do?! First, the original time we booked at 330pm was apparently not filled, so we were called at 1115am and asked to join the 2pm group. Not wanting to reschedule the rest of our week, we reluctantly agreed to change times. So, we cut our day at the beach short and rushed to get there.

*Worth noting: from our residence we’d seen whales cruising South off the West coast the past two days around 430pm, which is what dictated our time selection.

Second, the crew was friendly and helpful. And I know they cant corral the whales or sea life, but there’s gotta be a better way of highlighting the best times/opportunities to sea the whales and provide a proximity of how close the large boats are able to come to them.

Third, NO WHALES anywhere in sight. Thankfully the trip only cost $170 for a family of 3, but the hours we modified our day, hours spent on the boat without seeing any sea life whatsoever, and the ensuing hours spent waiting for a traffic accident to be cleared had to be chocked up to a pretty unsuccessful afternoon.

Fourth, I would highly recommend doing some research into the migration of these beautiful animals and pay close attention to reviews around the time you’re traveling so that your time and money is spent well. By no means am I saying absolutely don’t come on this trip, simply that you should consider the totality of what you get for your time and money.

Go if you get a chance Excellent trip with very informative crew. Saw a lot of whales, mothers with baby’s and a rowdy group of males. A mother and baby swam under the boat at one point. Would definitely recommend. Also a good price compared to the resort offerings.

OK for the Price. Good for the price. Late in the Whale season, so didn't see much. If I was going to do it again, I would go with a smaller boat, with small groups, and more service.

Best whale watching tour I have ever been on! The whale watching was absolutely incredible. I have been on whale watching tours many times in the past and this was the best one ever! We came upon a pod of bachelors and we saw 8 whale tails go up in the air in the space of a single minute. One, then another, and another, .. you get the idea. Could've been luck but I brought my cousins from South Dakota and one from Texas and they were blown away by the experience!!

Love Ma’alaea Harbor. Quicksilver is a solid choice. Great crew and awesome whale watch. The whales in Ma’alaea are super active and easy to reach. Quicksilver handles the sea and swell really well. A great choice for people with seasick issues or who enjoy easy restrooms and an inexpensive bar. It’s a tough walk from Boss Frogs to the boat for anyone with mobility impairments.

Great learning experience! The biologist on board was very knowledgeable and informative. I liked how he pointed out whale sightings and explained the behaviors/tendencies of the mama and baby humpbacks.
