Tour Overview
Immerse yourself in a culturally-based, holistic healing hula and sound healing experience, set against the majestic backdrop of the Koʻolau Mountains overlooking Kāneʻohe Bay. This experience is an invitation to connect your body, mind, and spirit with the rich history and natural beauty of Hawaiʻi.
Hula is more than a dance; it is the heartbeat of the Hawaiian people and a living connection to the land. In this unique culturally immersive experience, you will discover the profound healing power of hula as a practice for holistic wellness.
Led by cultural practitioner and Kumu Hula (Hula Teacher) ʻAuliʻi Aweau-Teves, the experience is rooted in the wisdom and traditions of Hawaiʻi. Participants will experience:
- Ancestral Storytelling: Hula is a living practice that serves to protect, preserve and perpetuate Hawaiian culture and history. You will learn how each graceful movement and gesture tells a story of Hawaiʻi, itʻs people, and the natural environment that surrounds us.
- Foundational Movements: Learn the basic hula steps and hand gestures that emulate the rhythms of nature. These movements are designed to tell stories while aligning oneʻs body, mind and spirit.
- Connection to Place: This experience emphasizes aloha ʻāina (love and respect for the land), fostering a deep, reciprocal relationship with the beautiful Island of Oʻahu in the lush area of Kāneʻohe. The spiritual connection to the place where you dance is central to the healing process.
- Cultural Values: Participants will be introduced to key Hawaiian values, such as aloha (love, affection, compassion) and mālama (to care for or to steward), in a supportive and nurturing environment.
“Hula is the language of the heart, therefore the heartbeat of the Hawaiian people.” (famous quote by King David Kalākaua, who ruled the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi from 1874-1891.)
Sound Journey Integration led by Diana Dymarsky of Awakened Mana
Following the hula practice, guests are guided into a restorative sound journey led by Diana Dymarsky of Awakened Mana. This immersive experience blends crystal singing bowls, elemental tones, and the ethereal resonance of the handpan to invite deep relaxation and energetic renewal.
