What to expect

Make your way to the family-owned Kualoa Ranch, a working cattle ranch in the sacred Ka’a’awa Valley. The windward side of the island, where the ranch is located, has a very different landscape than the beaches of Waikiki and is ripe for exploration. The cliffs, beaches and thick rainforest have made up the backdrop for many blockbuster films like Pearl Harbor and Jurassic Park.

Meet your experienced adventure guides for a short orientation, then get fitted with your safety equipment. Take off over the series of fourteen ziplines, each named for a culturally significant aspect of the Ka’a’awa Valley and ranging in length from 200 feet to 1/4 mile (.4 km). The course has an automatic braking system, so all you need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride. Fly through the forest and across burbling natural streams. Cross several suspension bridges and learn about the local plant and animal life from your guide along the way.

Embark on a couple of short treks along nature trails, each about 5 minutes in length, as your guide points out Hawaiian medicinal plants and describes their ancient traditional uses.

Fun but probably not worth the price Overall this was a fun experience, ziplines over some really beautiful terrain. The guides were helpful. It was neat to see the Jurassic Park and other movie filming locations on the drive out to the zip line tour. Took about 2-3 hours total. For a family of five cost almost $1,000 so I don't know that we really got our money's worth. Unfortunately the driving jeep tours of the ranch were sold out by the time I was booking so the zip line tour was my only choice.

Grace Should Count for Something. Beautiful Land, a Disappointing Response. Twice now My car broke down, and I called over an hour before my ziplining adventure was supposed to start. It was just a solo trip, and unfortunately, they wouldn’t work with me since the booking was made through this app (TripAdvisor). TripAdvisor also wouldn’t work with me.All I got was a “so sorry,” followed by the suggestion that I could pay full price again and rebook. I guess it is what it is — but given that $210 was already paid, and that I called with advance notice because my car broke down on the highway, you’d think there could have been something, even a small gesture, offered to help make my trip worthwhile. This was already a long-awaited trip, and I couldn’t justify wasting more money. The car rental company wasn’t much help either.Luckily, the beautiful mountains and land were payment enough. They made up for the disappointment and reminded me why I came in the first place — to experience something meaningful, even when things don’t go as planned. Same with the boat ride I took with them

Great zip tour We absolutely loved zip lining through the gorgeous valley at Kualoa ranch. The ride up to the zip base gave a great insight into the movie tour the ranch has to offer. Zoe, Carson and Ha’o were experienced guides on our tour. We felt safe at all times and had a great laugh with them all. Would highly recommend this zip tour and if your lucky enough to get these guides, your in for an even better time! Thanks again for a great experience!

Great morning This was our fourth tour with Kuoloa Ranch and I’m gonna say it’s up there with one of the best. First, the scenery is as always .. stunning. Feel blessed to be welcomed onto this special Ranch. The zip lines are through the beautiful flora and mountains. The guides were fun and energetic. They kept it smooth the entire time. Special shout out to our group of all ladies guides. Quinn was so cute and funny and full of surprises. She needs a raise! Anyway, a great time. Thanks to all.

Great fun A fantastic day!! Our guides were brilliant. Full of information and facts. Made sure our group was safe and did everything correct. Even saw some of the movie sets on route. The 7 zip lines and 2 bridges were awesome. Run in small groups so not much waiting around. Only a few short walks between zips. We had the best afternoon. Highly recommend.

Insane views, thrilling lines, and local guides you CANNOT MISS! Meladi, Dylan, and Braddah ….. thank you for giving our group the COOLEST EXPERIENCE in all of Hawaii!!!! Our group was celebrating a 16th bday and a wedding (Step-Chad) lol and you 3 made us feel SO SPECIAL! These 3 guides were all hilarious, personally got to know each of us, and were full send with the ALOHA spirit. They were also extremely safe, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel very comfortable and confident before zip lining. I could not dream up better guides…. whoever is the hiring manager NEEDS A RAISE! This is an activity you cannot miss. Aside from the service, the views are INSANE! Would HIGHLY recommend. Thank you 3 for the best day EVER!!!!!!!!
