Consider this a 10-star review—5 from each person in my party! This tour was worth every penny and then some! If you’re a chocolate lover, this tour is for you - you will try not only 11 different chocolate bars but chocolate tea! If you love learning and discovery, this tour is for you. If you appreciate stunning vistas and engaging, knowledgeable guides who bring the experience to life with humor and insight—this tour is for you! Basically, this tour is for everyone. It’s rare to find an experience that consistently earns 5-star reviews, but this one is the real sweet deal. You won’t be disappointed with Wrenn, Colin, and Jude—they are a trifecta of awesome!

Superb experience. I’m sure they have done this a couple hundred times but we never felt like they were bored or tired of saying they same thing. They truly make you feel like you’re the only guests they have ever had. Colin, Wren and of course Darwin are the most interesting & friendliest group I’ve ever met in Hawaii. Note: the drive in is exactly how it is described in the email although you will feel like you’re trespassing on private property just keep going and you’ll get there no problem.

This was so much more than I anticipated. Definitely a must do activity on the big island. Colin, Ren and of course Darwin (the dog) made the tour so entertaining and enjoyable...not to mention the chocolate etc. It was truly a beautiful experience. I learned so much about the entire process from grafting, harvesting, fermenting and ultimately chocolate! The farm is beautiful and very well taken care of. A gem!❤️🍫💝

I have been on my fair share of cacao farm tours and this is one of the best! Colin and Wrenn are doing amazing work with cacao growing, breeding and farming that they share with you on the tour. AND>>> you get to taste some of the best chocolate on the islands including chocolate made with beans from Honoli'i farms. The tasting room has a gorgeous view. A fantastic tour!!

See the cutting edge of Hawai'i grown chocolate. This tour is lead by farmer-scientists honing the methods that will allow this young industry to thrive. Walk through cacao trees in a gorgeous family-run orchard, touch the fresh pods and taste the fresh pulp, see how cacao beans are harvested and fermented, and enjoy and compare premium chocolate from over ten locations across Hawai‘i in a beautiful tasting gazebo. Even as someone who already knows a lot about chocolate, I learned even more. The new-to-cacao-farming people on the tour were completely blown away. If you like chocolate, you will love this aloha-filled experience!

This was a great tour to experience how chocolate is made. The views at the farm are amazing while Colin and Ren cover both the science and history making the experience one of a kind for the group. They take care of everything you need and it is no joke when they say you will have the opportunity to eat all the chocolate you could want!

A major highlight of our whole trip! This is a MUST VISIT for any chocolate lover - we learned so much… it was like a full college course on the history, agriculture, and process of making chocolate in one day. Wrenn is a born teacher - he kept it interesting and fun for nearly four hours! And we tasted the most incredible chocolate, fresh cacao, cacao juice, and even chocolate tea in the most gorgeous setting- paradise! (Darwin was also a very important participant)

Besides being able to witness a live erupting volcano (thank you, Mother Nature and Kīlauea), this was hands-down our favorite thing we did while visiting the Big Island. We were a large party of 10 people who all love chocolate! The people in our group were ages 18 to 85 and this was the perfect excursion for all of us. We didn’t feel like we were on a touristy tour at all. Wren and Colin are two lifelong locals who love the land and love to teach about the history of chocolate and how chocolate is farmed and produced. It is a stunning area to visit and you will learn so much about the island and about the world history of chocolate making. And the best part, you get to both drink and eat lots and lots of chocolate! This needs to be the number one thing you put on your list when you visit the Big Island. Well, Kilauea might have something to say about that! But seriously, this will be a top experience of your travelling life. Don’t miss it!
