The cacoa farm and chocolate tasting was awesome well worth it! It’s so beautiful up there with the ocean view not far from Hilo and you get to taste 10 different chocolate bar flavors and two cacoa based drinks. Book on their website to help the farmers the most.

Very in depth cacao farm tour. Collin and Wren run this farm themselves, and you get their personalized attention for 3-4 hours. Quick tour of cacao trees with samples, the fermenting process, quick history of chocolate, and many samples of Hawaiian grown chocolates. Even gave us free bananas, Lychee, and Sugarcane from their farm! My wife and I enjoyed it very much, and it was a favorite activity on the Big Island!

Colin and Wren are fantastic. They make a tubular pair and have a wealth of knowledge between them about cacao and chocolate. Highly recommend this experience.

What a highly informative and pleasurable experience! The hosts did a fabulous job of pulling us into their experiences growing, fermenting and bringing craft cacao to market in the context of cacao's global history and biology. The setting was lovely and comfortable, the chocolate fabulous and complex, and the hosts delightful and engaging. From tasting fresh beans off the tree and drinking cacao juice (yes really!) to examining tiny cacao flowers, and comparing finished products there was much that was unexpected and all was fun.

Wren and Collin were amazing!! They were incredibly friendly and a wealth of knowledge. Learning about the inner workings of their cacao farm was fascinating, and we all loved trying all the different chocolates from all over Hawai’i. I highly recommend visiting their cacao farm and give Darwin, the dog, a pat from us!

I took my parter and dad on the cacao farm tour and tasting and we all had such an unforgettable time. Colin and Wrenn took care of everything we could possibly need (sunscreen and umbrellas for the sun, water, transportation up the hill to the farm) and their vibe was so welcoming and informative. You can really tell how much they care about the farm, chocolate, and their guests’ experience. I am from the Big Island and I learned so many new things about cacao farming, the history of the area, and the history of cacao. When I have family and friends visit me in the future, I’m going to take them on this tour and tasting :) Also, the chocolate was amazing.

This was the most amazing chocolate tour I've ever been on! Usually these kinds of tours just scratch the surface of how chocolate/coffee/wine/etc. is grown and processed but Colin and Wren were so knowledgeable and excited to share what they know. From agricultural requirements, to the chemical compounds that give chocolate its flavors, to the history of chocolate (not only on Hawaii but also across the globe!), to how to eat chocolate to unlock maximum flavor, it was highly educational. Colin and Wren were so friendly, funny, and engaging, in the three hours of the tour there was never a dull moment. Not to mention you get to try a TON of chocolate!! We tried over eight varieties of chocolate, and even got to try the parts of the cacao that most people never get to experience like the pulp juice (which is surprisingly delicious). Every bar we tried was absolutely delicious and unique. I highly recommend this tour for visitors and residents alike, it is well worth it!

You need to check out this cacao farm. It’s an experience I’ll never forget. The chocolate, the views, the farmers. Everything about the cacao tour was perfection. After spending a few hours tasting, learning about cacao and walking around the orchid, I found that I now need to live on a cacao farm and make my whole life about cacao. So be aware. You may be hooked and will need to come back to Honolii Orchid several times on your trip.

I went to a tour to Honoli’i orchard and their chocolate tasting. It was AMAZING! First of all, the farm is so well maintained and well manicured that you just wanna cruz around see the beauty of it. Also, both Colin and Wren; explain all the steps in detailed and fun way that you don’t get tired. And then chocolate tasting is whole another level!! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I highly recommend it:)
