What to expect

Make your way to the family-owned Kualoa Ranch, a working cattle ranch in the sacred Ka’a’awa Valley. The windward side of the island, where the ranch is located, has a very different landscape than the beaches of Waikiki and is ripe for exploration. The cliffs, beaches and thick rainforest have made up the backdrop for many blockbuster films like Pearl Harbor and Jurassic Park.

Meet your experienced adventure guides for a short orientation, then get fitted with your safety equipment. Take off over the series of fourteen ziplines, each named for a culturally significant aspect of the Ka’a’awa Valley and ranging in length from 200 feet to 1/4 mile (.4 km). The course has an automatic braking system, so all you need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride. Fly through the forest and across burbling natural streams. Cross several suspension bridges and learn about the local plant and animal life from your guide along the way.

Embark on a couple of short treks along nature trails, each about 5 minutes in length, as your guide points out Hawaiian medicinal plants and describes their ancient traditional uses.

Great experience by professional and fun guides For a first timer the experience was amazing. The guides were professional, thorough, asked questions, answered questions and were fun to talk to. They made the morning just delightful. As someone who walked in there a little apprehensive, my mind was certainly put at ease with how Mark, Roy and the other gentleman (I should have asked for the correct spelling of his name but forgot!!) approached their task at hand! It was so much fun we didn’t really want it to end 😊

Just okay The view was breathtaking and the staff were great. The food was really good as well. The zip lines are lacking expected better. Nothing thrilling. The hikes in between each tower is really annoying. Why not zip line from tower to tower? Out dated and poor design.

Highly recommend Highly recommend! It was the best part of our weeklong trip to Hawaii and my two teenagers absolutely loved the experience. I am not a particularly active person but the hiking part wasn’t too hard. Zip line and suspension bridges weren’t too scary either. Our instructors, Mark from Virginia and two others, were awesome!

Beautiful views, exciting Zipline runs, and awesome guides make for a perfect experience in Jurassic Valley. We didn't know military discounted tickets could be purchased online, so we waited until we arrived on O'ahu and tried to book a Saturday tour on a Thursday. The ticket office on Schofield Barracks told us that we would get a better deal if we booked on our own. Unfortunately, due to us waiting until the last minute to book a tour, the only one that still had availability was the zipline tour. Neither of us have done a Zipline tour, but it was on our bucket lists, so we booked it. Our guides, Mac, Eddie, and Vince were awesome! I had issues getting myself to jump off the first platform and Eddie worked with me to get my feet out from under me. Eddie was so patient and kind as we worked together to figure out how to get me to trust the rig. After that first crossing, it became easier to jump off the platforms and by the last one, I was throwing myself off without a care. I'm also not in the best shape, so I struggled to hike up some of the trails between the platforms while carrying 15lbs of gear, but Mac would stop and keep me company as I caught my breath. By the end of the tour, I had to stop due to foot pain caused by plantar fasciitis, and Mac helped me take off my gear and she carried it back for me so that my foot could take a break. I was floored. It was only a few yards to base camp, but it was so kind of her to help me. I highly recommend this experience! It was so fun and the views were amazing! Plus, you're helping a local farmer and the nearby community.

Lots of fun for all ages We went on the zipline with our grandchildren 15 and 12. We're in our 70s. A couple of the stair climbs were a little hard because the steps were kind of tall, but the zips were a blast! The drive up was a fun look at lots of movie sites.
